Letters for you

Connor wanted to be a policeman. Solving cases fascinated him. Yet here he was in the courtroom, desperately trying to convince the jury that he didn’t kill his professor. The Suitcase from My Secret Santa

Midnight

While everyone sleeps
I walk down the streets
Like a wandering ghost,
I may seem lost
But that’s just an act.
Underneath the sky that’s blacked
Lives an entity of death;
The arch nemesis of good health.
I’m the reaper of souls.
I carry a list that only unrolls
During the hours of darkness.
I read the names enlisted with an air of calmness.
I don’t pity them for they have sinned,
Fate doesn’t differentiate between the dark and fair skinned.
I creep into their homes but no one spots me;
Lives are taken by me quite easily.
I’m not evil
And though my intent is doubtful,
I assure you I won’t take your life,
Unless you’ve killed someone with a knife.
If committing crimes makes you gush with delight
You’ll find me at your doorstep at midnight.
